The White House always celebrates the holidays in style. Especially the Obama Administration White House. And Halloween this year was a riot. Celebrating Halloween for the first family has been a tradition for many years. It started out as a small get together during the Eisenhower administration, but it has now turned into quite the party.
Since President Obama has been in office, the first lady has made it a tradition to invite children from the local schools, and those of military service families to trick or treat at the White House. The first family’s residence was decorated full scale for the event, and children excitedly walked up to the President and first lady as they handed them delicious treats.
All of the children had creative costumes, but one little trick or treater really seemed to impress the President: Obama couldn’t contain his excitement when a baby dressed as Pope Francis was driven up to him in a tiny Popemobile. The baby’s Popemobile was driven by a man dressed in all black with sunglasses, who self identified as the tiny Pope’s security.
The President continuously said that the tiny baby’s costume won “top prize,” and he couldn’t help but dote on the cute costume for a few minutes before the baby passed through. It seems as though the White House Halloween celebration was a success, and the baby Pope gave everyone in attendance a good laugh.
