Writing letters is a fading art. In an age strung up by emails and text messages, phone calls, voicemails, snapchats, IM, DM, facetime, and vines few actually take the time to write their thoughts out completely and send them off and away. A well written letter can be funny and moving and informative, even persuasive. And it can also be bluntly truthful in a very vivid way.
One mother sent a letter to her daughter about the recent actions of Miley Cyrus. Over a year ago, Cyrus started twerking on awards shows and making promiscuous videos involving wrecking balls and dressing rooms. However, her most recent actions at the MTV awards took her down to a new level.
The mother called Cyrus a pathetic wreck and points out how her desperate antics are a plea for attention. Maybe even a cry for help. She tells her daughter that the world is laughing at the trashy displays and sexual references. They are not laughing with her or admiring her. They are laughing at her.
Most importantly, the mother says she will make sure her daughter never acts in such a way and threatens to twerk in public right alongside her.
