This plus-size model from Lincoln, Nebraska is redefining fashion as we know it. Ashley Graham took to the catwalk during New York Fashion Week promoting her new lingerie collection. Here, she led a beautiful array of plus-size models flaunting the Black Orchid holiday collection, which is specifically geared towards curvy women. The collection includes bras, corsets, panties and kimonos.
Breaking the standard of stick-thin models, Ashley proudly displays her size 16 frame. Previously being featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, she has broken the barrier between plus-size models and stereotypical models of past and present. Ashley admits to having her “fat” days, but knows that everyone has not-so-pretty days.
Graham wants to the world to know that beauty comes in a variety of shapes and sizes, and women shouldn’t be chastised because they aren’t a size 2. She avidly exercises and eats healthy. Loving yourself no matter what size you are is the first step to having a positive body image. She hopes that with her new line, she can encourage others to take a better look at themselves and stop the fat shaming.
