Tinesha recently gave birth to a precious baby girl by the name of Priya Worsham. The birth will likely remain a very vivid memory for the mother for the rest of her life. At just 26 weeks in age, the newborn youngster weighed in at merely one pound and six ounces. Since she was very premature, staying alive was a battle for her, Tinesha couldn’t sleep at all after Priya was born.
She couldn’t figure out why wee Priya had come into the world so quickly. She was concerned that she might have perhaps done something to contribute to the premature birth, as well. That idea bothered her a lot. The mom at one point visited Priya and spotted some very small blue boxing gloves. These gloves were dangling directly above baby Priya’s incubator. Tinesha then proceeded to have a discussion with the hospital’s neonatal intensive care nurses. She was at Prentice Women’s Hospital.
At that time, she figured out the symbolism of the boxing gloves. Barb Alvarado is a woman who birthed a young boy name Gabe several years ago. When Gabe entered the world, he was a tad heavier than two pounds. He was told that he only had fifty percent odd of staying alive. Alvarado’s sister-in-law presented her with a gift that, with time, would become an invaluable supplier of peace to other parents who were just as frightened and confused as she was at the time. After Alvarado got the present, she placed it over the incubator.
They helped her remember that although Gabe appeared to be fragile and weak, he was actually extremely tough. Gabe’s condition improved dramatically after several weeks. Alvarado then witnessed a couple of parents sobbing because they were just told that their premature little one didn’t have a very strong chance of making it. She immediately went to her son’s incubator, removed the boxing gloves and brought them straight over to the distressed pair. She told them that she wished for the boxing gloves to be as beneficial for their baby as they were to little Gabe. That was the start of it all.
Since then, those boxing gloves have meant so much to so many parents who were dealing with intense apprehension. They have helped many parents cope with the extremely difficult situation of having a premature baby. One set of parents felt so grateful toward the boxing gloves that they make annual donations of eighty of them. These gloves are intended to assist fearful parents who are in need of motivation and emotional assistance. People can keep these boxing gloves, but Tinesha says she wouldn’t ever dream of doing so. The mom wants to keep them around to serve as motivation for any upcoming parents who are involved in the same situation.
If you’ve ever been around a premature baby who had an uncertain future, you definitely know where Tinesha is coming from. These famed little blue boxing gloves have done so much. It’s bizarre how seemingly small things in this life can have such incredible results. Parents will hopefully be getting much-needed support from those unassuming blue boxing gloves for many, many years to come. Those gloves prove that people can overcome adversity. Many premature babies have gone on to become happy, healthy, successful and productive adults. Not many things can be more amazing than that. There truly are still some miracles left on this amazing planet. We all see these miracles each and every day of our lives, even if we’re not instantly aware of them. That is the definition of pure beauty and joy.
