Has Donald Trump’s apparent popularity as presidential front-runner for the GOP helped his public image? Not if you ask New York. Donald the Trump took a break from his campaign trail for a seat at the US Open Tennis match in New York. But the crowd wasn’t too happy to see him. Thousands started booing the Trump in what can only be described as a Donald disaster.
Trump’s new trophy – ah, we mean wife – was with him, and glancing skeptically at him over the course of the game. At least once when this happens he mugs sardonically for the crowd, it’s like she’s counting the days until her lawyer can find a loophole in her prenuptial contract.
Donald hasn’t fared better on the campaign trail lately. Just recently on a stop in Iowa, at a college stadium, Trump supporters clashed with anti-Trump pro-immigration demonstrators, even going so far as to tear up each other’s signs. This amid charges of mounting racism on Trump’s part. The man’s unpopularity even within his own party has fueled a $1 million campaign against him by a conservative group called “Club for Growth.”
Trump makes a fun target, and a hell of an easy one, but to most in the press he still seems like a paper tiger. After all, it’s not like he earned any of the money he enjoys swaggering around and bragging about.
