Want To Stop Your Car Windows From Fogging Up This Winter? Here’s How!

One of the more annoying aspects of the winter season is that your car windows are likely to fog up on a regular basis. While having to reach for the defogger button when you’re on the road isn’t too pleasant, the reduced visibility that comes with foggy windows can make driving more dangerous. Many have talked about improvements to defogging systems or other high-tech solutions, but there is a simple way to get rid of foggy windows and prevent your visibility from being impaired.

A video that was recently uploaded on YouTube and shared through various social media outlets shows an easy and low-cost way to eliminate the problem. The only materials required are a sock, a roll of tape and some cat litter. Here’s how to make your very own defogger:

1. Take the sock and put the roll of tape at the top, then roll some of the fabric over it. This will keep the sock open and make the rest of the procedure a lot easier.
2. Pour some cat litter into the sock. You don’t need to use too much, filling it up to the ankle is enough.
3. Remove the roll of tape and tuck in the opening of the sock so that it keeps the cat litter from falling out.
4. Put the sock on your dashboard and the fog on your windows will be soon gone.

This easy trick is effective at making foggy windows disappear because cat litter takes out the moisture in the air, which removes condensation from windows. Placing the sock on the dashboard makes it work faster and more effectively, but it’s not absolutely necessary. You can also put it under a seat and it should be able to do the job fine.
