VIDEO: Who Knew I’ve Been Cutting Peppers Wrong All This Time. This Trick Is Great!

Cutting up ingredients like peppers and onions can be one of the least favorite parts of cooking but it doesn’t have to be. It can be easy to cut a pepper uniformly and easy if you just try this slick trick. Place your pepper on chopping board and cut off both the top and bottom.

Standing the pepper up, just make a single slice down one place of the pepper. Then insert your knife and cut around and around the outside of the center until the entire inside is removed and all you are left with is the outside of the pepper lying flat on the cutting board.

Discard the inside. Once you push the center out of the top you can use the rest of that as well as the bottom of the pepper to minimize waste. Now you should be able to roll out the outside of the pepper flat on the cutting board and the slice the pepper in the desired thickness that you need.

If your recipe calls for the pepper to be diced or in square shaped pieces just turn the long slices on their side and chop some more until you have the desired size. Next time you need a pepper for cooking, try this slick, quick and easy method.
