There are so many cases in the society where conflicts escalate higher than they ever should have. This video shows one example, where a man is being rude to the woman who is in front of him in line at the convenience store.
Basically, she had several items and he is having to wait for her to finish up at the counter. Social convention may dictate that it would have been nice for her to let him go first, since he had fewer items, but it does not justify his rudeness. Neither does it justify what she ends up doing to him at the end. Both parties are at fault in this case.
What happens is that she is trying to check out her items, and he is making rude and snarky comments the whole time. She is clearly getting irritated, and she is talking back to him. The altercation continues while the clerk is checking out the woman’s items, and at the end, she dares him to say something else. When he does make another rude comment, she ends up macing him.
Macing someone for this reason, when there is no apparent physical threat, could be considered assault. Both of these individuals were out of line in this situation, and this kind of behavior should not be happening among civilized adults. Hopefully, this is just one incident, and both of these individuals learn from what happened here and can prevent this sort of thing from happening in the future.
