VIDEO: She Takes A Knife To Her Lip Gloss Container. When She Showed Me Why I Was Impressed

Are you looking for a simple and inexpensive party favor or just looking to recycle your old lipstick? In this video you’ll learn a quick, easy hack for DIY lip balm that’s also eco-friendly.

What you’ll need:

– Bee’s wax (1 block, easy to order online or find at Whole Foods)
– Coconut oil
– Old lipstick
– Vitamin E (liquid form)
– Peppermint essential oil
– Small cosmetic pots or old lip balm container

Grate the bee’s wax into a glass measuring cup, and add an equal amount of coconut oil. Microwave the mixture for 1 minute, or until it’s combined in liquid form, but not boiling. Add a small amount of lipstick (the more you add, the more tint you’ll get), vitamin E and a few drops of peppermint oil. Return mixture to the microwave, heat for about 10 seconds or until the lipstick is softened, and stir.

Pour the liquid into the small cosmetic pots. If you have an old lip balm container, unscrew it, use a knife to pop the center piece out of the base, then screw it into the lid. Pour the liquid into the lid so that it covers the center piece, then refrigerate it until it hardens. Click the base back onto the center piece, then unscrew the lid. The balm should be molded in the shape of the lid.

To make easy gifts, the cosmetic pots can be decorated with stickers, monograms, or washi tape. Get creative, and enjoy!
