Nancy Grace, who hosts a current affairs program on HLN, interviewed Tauheed Epps who is better known as rapper, 2 Chainz. Chainz was a top student in high school and earned a basketball scholarship to Alabama University. While Nancy Grace is the mother of boy and girl twins, aged 7, Chainz has 2 young daughters.
The 2 are on opposite sides of marijuana legalization. Nancy Grace presented footage about pot related crimes in hopes of getting 2 Chainz to take her side. Some of the footage was about parents who supposedly allowed their infants to smoke marijuana. The rapper responded by saying you can’t put a restriction on everyone just for the mistakes made by a few in that community.
Nancy Grace’s View
She didn’t want to be “stewed in a pot” because she didn’t blame everyone. Nancy was concerned that once marijuana is legalized, irresponsible people who mistreat their children will have access to the substance.
2Chainz’s View
He thought that legalizing marijuana could cause reduction in prison overpopulation. People who use the substance will no longer be considered ineligible for loans such as home or finance. Pot use would no longer tarnish a person’s reputation. 2 Chainz sold marijuana when he was in high school in order to make a living, but he wouldn’t want his children to sell it. He believed he made a sacrifice for his children by selling marijuana so they wouldn’t need to do that sort of thing.
