When you are searching for directions, you might get out a map. Electronic devices have tended to take over the paper maps, but they are still used by those who don’t like technology or those who like reading information on paper. However, there could be proof that maps have been lying about locations and directions for some time.
One of the things that are taught when children are in school is that some maps will give a distorted look of how the world looks in reality. There have been some indications that there has been a mass of land about five times larger than the United States during the time of the Cold War.
This land mass is known as Russia, but it’s not anywhere close to five times the size of the United States. Greenland looks like it’s bigger than Africa while other countries don’t appear to be the size that most people think that they are. When you look at a map, you often have to keep in mind that they have been created by humans. These are simply drawings, and any drawing can be distorted.
However, it does show that some maps might need to be updated to reflect the true details of countries instead of being something that is not truly depicted.
