Jason Gates, who is a Public Safety Officer, recently pulled a woman over for running a red light. It was supposed to be a routine traffic stop.
However, what happened next was totally unexpected. When he pulled the woman over, he discovered that she was choking on something. He told the woman to get out of the car so that he could perform the Heimlich maneuver on her.
The officer performed the Heimlich maneuver and was able to dislodge the object that the woman had stuck in her throat.
The whole ordeal was caught on camera, and the video has been posted to many websites. The woman has obviously shaken up by the incident, but she did thank Officer Gates for what he did. She also cried tears of joy and expressed her gratitude by giving the officer a big hug. Police officers often get a bad rap.
The ones who actually do good deeds very seldom make the news. However, Officer Gates proves that there are many good police officers out there today. He also deserves to be called a hero. If it had not been for his quick thinking and actions, then this woman probably would have not lived.
