Sometimes we experience things that seem like blessings to others, but they are actually more like curses. Rishabh was born in Nepal in 2009, and he was very different from other babies in terms of experience. He had eight limbs. Everyone around came to worship this baby, because in their Hindu religion, he appeared to be a god.
Many Hindu gods have multiple limbs, so they believed that this baby was to be worshipped. However, he had all of these limbs because of a medical issue. he had a parasitic twin inside of him that was growing just as fast as he was.
Even though people would gather from all around to worship this baby, Rishabh’s parents were worried from the very beginning. They could see clearly that he was in pain all the time, and they sought medical advice as to what the issue was. When they realized the truth, they were shocked. They were very worried about their son, and they wanted to fix what was wrong with him so that he could have a chance at a real life.
In 2010, this baby had a surgery that made him appear less like a god to many people, but it was likely worth it because it ended up saving his life. This is one example of a medical miracle that not only saved his life, but can possibly save other lives as well through the spreading of awareness about rare conditions such as the one Rishabh dealt with.
