At this time, Donald Trump has a well-established image brand as a businessman, real estate mogul, and reality TV star. Now, he is busy at work casting himself as a man of the people and social conservative in his bid to win the 2016 GOP presidential nomination. However, like Hillary Clinton, it appears the public image doesn’t always square with reality.
In the award-winning documentary “You’ve Been Trumped”, the Donald’s exploits building a $1.5 billion luxury golf course in Scotland are examined. Trump initially won approval for the project by stating it would create 6,000 new jobs in the area. While in hindsight it seems implausible that a country club golf course could create that many jobs, local authorities took Trump at his work and authorized the project. The jobs did not materialize as promised.
Next, Trump did something that is nothing short of a bully tactic against reluctant homeowners. Not everyone was eager to sell their property to the golf course. Those residents who refuse to sell their homes with breath taking views of ocean awoke to find mounds of dirt placed in front of their homes.
The dirt piles blocked the oceanic views they had come to enjoy. Trump even tried to get authorities to force residents out of their homes. It is understandable why Trump would get his attorney’s to block the distribution of the film. He casts himself a man of the people. On the other hand, the film depicts a rich bully intent on always getting his way.
