People are often afraid of sharks, largely due to occasional unfortunate encounters others have had with them and iconic images from famous Hollywood movies. Although it’s easy to imagine people rushing over to assist a seal or sea otter in need, it’s a little tougher to picture them with the same determination to help a seemingly fierce shark.
Because of that, you may be a little awestruck to see how some people spending the day on the beach reacted to the presence of a beached shark. While they were keenly aware that this creature was in need of prompt help, they were also aware that they had to be extremely careful in giving it to him. A person acting without thinking around a shark could irritate the animal and lead to a serious and permanent injury such as a missing arm, after all.
The concerned people poured buckets of water on the motionless creature. He started moving slowly after this, which caused the people watching to all cheer. One brave man dragged the shark’s body after tying a long rope around his tail and attaching it to a small boat. This allowed the boat to return the beached creature back to his wet habitat. Once the shark’s body was back in the water, the people removed the rope from his tail.
With a little time, patience and care, the people at the beach were successful in aiding the poor shark. Fortunately, no one sustained an injury during the task, either.
