This Looks Like Your Ordinary Rabbit – But When He’s Lifted Up You’ll Be Shocked!

When most people hear the word “bunny”, they usually envision the type of smaller rabbits they see around their homes and neighborhoods. These cute, little bunnies are typically in the 8 to 12 inch long range. What many people don’t realize is that bunnies come in a wide variety of shapes and size, anywhere from miniature ones that can fit in a cup, to giant ones over four feet long.

Atlas, a giant continental rabbit, is somewhere in between the two extremes of size. This cute little bunny rabbit is just seven months old, and is now being taken care of by the Scottish SPCA who has put him up for adoption. According to center manager of the Scottish SPCA, Anna O’Donnell, Atlas’ previous owner eventually just became unable to look after the bunny and had to give it up.

The kind and caring staff at the center in Glasgow, Scotland, are actively doing their best to try to find Atlas a new, loving home. When asked to describe Atlas, Anna O’Donnell said, “Atlas is an inquisitive boy who makes everyone laugh with his mischievous character. He is a very friendly rabbit who loves attention and getting cuddles.”

While Atlas is already far larger than the majority of bunnies out there (and most dogs), he is expected to keep growing at a rapid pace. Even though he is absolutely adorable, this makes finding people who are able and willing to care for him as he grows larger a challenge. “We are looking for a specific home for Atlas due to his breed and size. A standard rabbit hutch won’t do, so his new owner will need plenty of space for him.” said Anna.

If you or someone you know is interested and able to offer Atlas a good home with a caring and nurturing environment, you should contact the Scottish SPCA directly by phone at 03000-999-999 (option 5). You can also reach out to them using their convenient online communication form.
