This Dog May Be Deaf, But Wait Until You See What He Can Do Better Than Most Dogs I know

Training a dog can be incredibly difficult because they rely on verbal and physical cues to learn. However, a dog with a disability can still be trained, but a lot of patience is required if you plan on training a deaf dog. The good news is that with the proper training, dogs with disabilities can thrive. The pit bull named Cotton is a prime example of that.

Cotton was born completely deaf. He is sweet, lovable and very smart, and his adoptive parent has trained Cotton to do some tricks. Cotton can roll over, shake hands and sit on command. His owner trains him by using hand signals and positive reinforcement. When Cotton does a trick, he gets a treat.

You can tell that Cotton is a clever and friendly dog by looking at him. Cotton’s owner probably did not have an easy time training him. However, it is a great that she took the time out to do so. Cotton’s owner recorded him doing tricks and posted it online.

There are many other videos that show the amazing things disabled pets can do when they are trained and loved. There is a Jack Russell terrier that can navigate through the entire house despite the fact that he is blind.
