This Age Old English Breakfast Recipe Will Have Your Mouth Watering. Have You Ever Eaten This?

Has your breakfast been boring and bland? Are you are looking for a better way to start your day when it comes to your morning fuel? If you are looking for something new, sometimes it’s good to look to the past. Scotch eggs have been a staple in English culture since the 1700s. Scotch eggs are a protein packed breakfast that will keep you full throughout your morning and keep you running on all 8 cylinders. Here’s how to make them.

You will need: 1 pound of ground pork, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon of English mustard, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, ¼ tablespoon of ground mace, 2 finely chopped sage leaves, 2 finely chopped thyme sprigs, salt and pepper to taste, 6 hard-boiled eggs, canola oil, bread crumbs, an egg, ¼ cup of milk, ½ cup of flour

Directions: Hard boil 6 eggs. When they are done, remove the shells and set the eggs aside. Put the ground pork in a medium bowl. Mix in Worcestershire sauce, English mustard, cornstarch, ground mace, sage, thyme, and the salt and pepper. Use a handful of the pork mixture and cover one hard-boiled egg forming a ball. Complete this step again for all eggs. Refrigerate them for 30 minutes.

The next part requires three small bowls. Put flour in one, beat an egg and milk in another, and put the panko bread crumbs in the third. Remove the pork balls from the refrigerator, roll it in the flour, then coat it in the egg and milk mixture, lastly cover it in the bread crumbs. The final step is to cook them. Fill a frying pan with about a ½ inch of oil. Bring the oil to a medium heat and fry the Scotch eggs until they’re golden brown, about 7 minutes. Place them on a plate that has paper towels. The paper towels will soak up excess oil.
