The effect that a child can have on a parent’s life is like no other. In fact, this effect can be made in only a matter of minutes, which is all that these two babies needed.
Jess Evans and Mike Houlston, an engaged couple expecting a baby, were told 12 weeks into her pregnancy that one of their twins was not going to survive because of a birth defect. However, they decided to keep going with the pregnancy and explore organ donation. They gave birth to the twins on April 22, and named them Teddy and Noah. Teddy only lived for 100 minutes, but during that time, he filled his parents’ hearts full of love. As if this was not enough, his kidney donation saved another life.
Youanna Torres gave birth to Savier almost 20 weeks premature, going into labor when she was only 19 weeks and 6 days pregnant. Because the baby was so premature that he was not viable, the doctors were not able to save his life. However, his mother and father were able to take a video of this precious child kicking his legs, which they will have to cherish forever even though he is gone.
These babies are just one more reminder of how precious life is. Even though their lives did not last long, they were able to make permanent impacts on people within minutes. Their parents will remember them forever, and they will love them even though they never got to know them.
