Ted Nugent Crashing and Burning: Attendance So Poor Tickets Only $5

Musician Ted Nugent, who supports presidential hopeful Donald Trump, ran into problems last Saturday right before his show at the LaconiaFest in New Hampshire.

Ticket sales were so sluggish, the price was dropped from $70 to $5 each at the last minute. The event, which attracts motorcycle enthusiasts and features hard rock bands, was eventually forced to cancel its final day due to a lack of funds.

In the time leading up to the show, Nugent, 67, claimed he would produce a “gaggle of sexy, skinny women,” implying that heavier women are not considered attractive. While it is not clear if that statement played a role in the lack of ticket sales, it did not improve his image to an increasingly sensitive public. In addition, Nugent is one of only a handful of musicians who support Donald Trump. Country singer Loretta Lynn also backs the billionaire.

Nugent’s position on Muslims has also drawn ire after he compared their presence in the U.S. to that of vicious dogs. He has a position on the NRA board and often posts anti-Semitic remarks on social media. There is speculation the aging rock star’s outrageous public behavior is a sad struggle to remain relevant.
