She Takes Melted Crayons And Adds It To A Cup of Liquid Lard. What She Ends Up Making? So Cute!

Crisco is typically used in the kitchen for pastries including pie crusts, breads, and biscuits. However, a video tutorial online shows that with Crisco and some crayons, you might be able to make something more lasting that food.

It turns out combining Crisco and crayons can help you create your very own candles.

YouTuber Lisa Pullano put together a video showing how she made her candles. Not only can they be color tinted, scented, and basically the same as any candle you can pull from the store shelf, but she also shows how people can make their own bug repelling candles for outdoor use.

What you’ll need to start is, of course, Crisco. Then you’ll need to get a heat resistant container. Pullano recommends Mason jars or something similar that you can recycle. Candle wicks are must, which can be purchased really cheaply online. After the wicks are super glued into the container, you melt the measured amount of Crisco down. After it’s melted down, wait for it cool and then add melted down crayon into the mix to add color. Candle fragrances can be purchased and added into the melted mixture. Once that’s done, dump the mixture into the container and wait for it to cool in the refrigerator.

Each candle takes under an hour to make and last up to five times longer than traditional wax candles.
