She Starts By Glueing 1 Leaf To A Mason Jar. By The Time It’s All Done? How Adorable!

It’s that time of year again! The summer heat is finally draining, the cold evenings of fall have begun to creep in to replace it. This is the season of hot cocoa, sweaters, boots, dead leaves, caramel apples, and pumpkins galore. Autumn, is a great time for interior decorating and crafting opportunities.

It is possible to combine your love of crafting and decorating for fall by making these adorable DIY mason jar candles. You will need: Mod Podge, a paint brush, leaves (either real or artificial), a mason jar, and either a ribbon, some yarn or raffia.

The first step is to cover your mason jar in a thin layer of Mod Podge. Next, take each leaf and flatten it against the jar. You can arrange the leaves however you like, it is okay if they aren’t all perfectly flat, too. Minor imperfections will make your jar look more natural and add character.

After you have secured each of the leaves, let the jar dry. You may notice a few of the leaves only loosely attached. If this is the case, paint a second coat of Mod Podge over top of the leaves and let the jar dry again. Once the jar is completely dry it is time to reach for your ribbon, yarn, or raffia. Use the string of your choice to tie a bow around the top of the jar. And finally for the last step place an LED candle inside the mason jar. And there it is! Display your mason jar candle light proudly anywhere in the house to add a rustic fall aesthetic.

Repeat these steps until you have made enough of the candles to illuminate your home. It is easy enough that you can even make extras to give to friends! Spread the fall love!
