It is no secret that dogs and babies have a shared fascination with one another. Dogs often serve as playmate, best friend, nanny, and protector for their human siblings. Mom Elizabeth Spence recognized that the connection between her son Archie and the family rescue dog Nora was something special, and she decided to document their relationship in a series of heartwarming photographs.

Nora often accompanies Archie as he plays and explores the world around him, but the duo’s favorite activity is curling up together for a cozy nap. It was this sweet, peaceful scene that prompted Spence to grab her camera. Her pictures soon became more elaborate as she began to incorporate props and even other family pets into the picture. With a total of three dogs and three cats in the household, there is always someone willing to grab a little extra love and attention by sitting in on a photo shoot.

Elizabeth, 43, said: I thought it would be fun to document and share these daily love fests to show how awesome rescue dogs are. SEE CATERS COPY.

Many people are wary of having dogs, especially rescues or larger breeds, in close proximity to infants. Spence looks at her photos as an opportunity to highlight the wonderful disposition and loving nature of many rescue dogs and to showcase the unique bond between babies and their pooches. Spence also assures other concerned parents that all of Archie and Nora’s naps are supervised to ensure that everyone remains safe and happy.
