She Sees A Disabled Vet Struggling In A Wal Mart Parking Lot, So She Knew What She Had To Do

It is upsetting that veterans of the United States can face problems when they return to the country. They bravely serve our nation and there are times they must struggle to get by in life. United States citizens should try to make an effort to help veterans because they are not receiving enough help.

However, a young women sets an admirable example and helps a veteran who sacrificed more than just his time to help our country. As a way of showing appreciation and gratitude, Morgan Wheeler decided to act and show the soldier that she is grateful. When she was leaving Wal Mart, she saw a man in a wheelchair pass by her car. Wheeler noticed the man was missing his right leg from the knee down and was wearing an old, worn pair of combat boots.

The veteran seemed to be in his sixties or seventies and was stopped to take a break. When he saw Wheeler was trying to pull out of her parking space, he quickly waved and apologized. Wheeler did not leave the parking lot, but instead asked the gentleman if he need assistance shopping.

Wheeler helped the soldier purchase eggs, butter, and milk. However, the man was uncertain he would make it home before they went bad.

After helping him shop and having a great conversation, Wheeler called a taxi for the man. Wheeler also gave the man all the cash she had on her at the time and thanked him for his service to the United States. If more people would follow Wheeler’s example, then veterans would get the appreciation they deserve.
