She Dips Skewers Into Colorful Water. What She Creates Moments Later? HOW AWESOME!

Rock candy is a classic treat that almost all children love. The many different flavors and colors of the item often attract people of all ages to it. There is nothing more dazzling or satisfying than a well made piece of rock candy. A woman named Heidi decided long ago that she would start her own candy company, and now, Heidi’s candy company is thriving, and one of her most popular featured items is rock candy.

With the passing of the latest Halloween season, Heidi’s company, Happiness is Homemade, decided to put together a tutorial in order for parents and children to learn how to make rock candy together. The expert candy creator first instructs her pupils to boil 4 cups of water and 4 cups of sugar together. The sugary solution must boil for 15 minutes. After the sugar has crystallized, the next step of the process requires submerging wooden skewers into the hot sugar. This part of the process must be performed with care. The sticks will be coated with thousands of hot sugar crystals.

After that is done, Heidi then instructs to roll the wooden sticks into dry sugar. This will cause the hot sugar and cold sugar to merge together in a violent, beautiful chemical reaction. At this point of the process, you are half way done and a bit closer to finally eating your homemade rock candy. You must then place the sugar covered wooden skewers onto a plate to cool off for 15 minutes. Now, you will pour the boiling sugar solution into several mason jars. You can add food coloring or flavoring to each sugary filled mason jar. Some popular flavors include cherry, watermelon, lemon, and blue raspberry.

Once the mason jars are filled, you will only need to complete one more step. The last step, and possibly the hardest, requires a tremendous amount of patience and care. You must place two sugar covered wooden skewers into each sugary filled mason jar. However, the wooden skewers cannot touch each other or the sides of the glass. Heidi recommends using clothes pins to keep the sticks in place. You must then place the mason jars in a sunny spot of your home. A window sill is the ideal location for the drying process. Unfortunately, it’s going to take about a week for the rocky candy to form. But the final product will be a delicious treat that you and your loved ones created all by yourselves.
