Taking your child to a public park is often an enjoyable experience. It’s a great way to get the kids outside and it allows parents to get a breath of fresh air themselves. When Amy Smith took her toddler to the park one day to play, she never imagined the horror her little girl would be met with.
Upon their arrival, Amy did as any parent would. She found a comfortable spot to sit where she could keep her eyes on her daughter at all times. One would think that a well-supervised child would be safe at the park, however, there are many dangers that go unseen.
As any young child would, Amy’s daughter, Demi-Mai, ran directly for the slide. After the toddler climbed up, mom noticed it was taking her longer than usual to slide back down. She heard her child cry out in pain and quickly raced to her side. What she saw next threw her into hysterics.
Broken glass littered the slide, cutting into little Demi-Mai’s tiny leg. It appeared as though the glass was left there purposely, threatening the livelihood of unsuspecting children who come to the park to have a good time. With glass still embedded in her daughter’s leg, Amy rushed her to the hospital for treatment. Luckily, Demi-Mai is expected to make a full recovery. But she won’t be going down the slide any time soon.
