Reid Congratulates The GOP For Eight Years Obstructing The First Black President

As Congress wound down before the election on November 8, Senator Harry Reid addressed its members about their consistent obstruction of President Obama. He said that this Congress would go down as the most insulting and disrespectful toward a president at any time in history.

Reid emphasized his points by saying Obama was the first president ever denied hearings on his budgets and on his Supreme Court nominees. Obama was also the first president to be asked to prove where he was born. Over the eight years he has served as president, Obama has had to deal with 500 filibusters.

Reid said the GOP wanted to make Obama a single-term president, and that is why it blocked him every chance it could. He added that while no one will ever completely agree with a sitting president, the GOP’s actions against Obama were insulting to both the office and the nation.

Reid concluded by saying that Trump is not some strange anomaly that suddenly appeared but is the monster the GOP built through its shabby treatment of the president. Since Monday evening’s debate, Trump has fallen behind in the polls by about five percent. That is a significant marker with the election only six weeks away.
