At one point in all of our lives we have faced the unfair judgment of others. This may have been a bully at school, suffering at the words or actions of someone who may have made fun of or tormented others. Many are judgmental on the religious standpoints that another chooses for themselves or even their sexual orientation.

The receivers of hate crimes or victims of bullying have a variety of options for a response to these actions or statements. Some may say hateful words in retaliation.

Others may simply keep their silence and walk away with the pain they were caused. Still others choose to go above and beyond and find a way to take away any sense of power from the words and simultaneously take away the power of those people who try to inflict their negativity on the rest of the world. This gay couple showed the proper way to deal with the unfair and uncalled for judgmental actions of another.

During the holidays someone decided to deface the couple’s home and key the word “faggots” into the door of their apartment. They took this message of hate in stride and left a note for the vandal taped to the very same door telling them that they unfortunately had to remove their sign as they neither used sequence or glitter paint and the couple also couldn’t leave it because the handwriting was absolutely awful.

They signed their note of response with the words “fabulously yours, the Gays in apt. 611.” This response was a priceless and classy way to let the person who tried to hurt them know that they don’t really care what they have to say.
