Pentatonix Sings “The First Noel” – With An Exceptional Twist

Nothing spells Christmas holiday like all the beautiful, old classic carols. Many of us were brought up on these sentimental favorites and remember all the words. Some of us sang in choirs, choral groups or in the neighborhood bringing cheer to all.

Christmas carols sound especially moving when sung by an a cappella group; in other words, without instrumental accompaniment. One of the hottest a cappella groups at the moment, hails from Arlington, Texas, known as Penatatonix. The five member band includes one lady and four men in vocals: Kirstin Maldonado, Avi Kaplan, Scott Hoying, Kevin Olusola and Mitch Grassi.

Pentatonix (PTX) is an a cappella group with style and swag and happens to produce a heavenly sound that the world has come to appreciate. The vocalists have soared in popularity and recently traveled and performed on a world tour. The five are active on social media, with huge followings on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube.

The a cappella group’s Christmas album, “That’s Christmas To Me,” has become a classic in homes on a global basis. It seems like most folks have a copy, and it’s easy to see and hear why. Hearing these talented vocalists sing “The First Noel” will blow you away. Their voices are crystal clear, strong and yet delicately angelic.

Pentatonix’ YouTube channel is extremely popular. In fact, the channel rates as YouTube’s 13th most subscribed music video channel and the 44th most subscribed channel overall. You can check out their rendition of the classic and heartwarming “The First Noel”.

By the way, you won’t be alone listening to these vocalists. Their YouTube channel boasts 12,047,861 subscribers at the moment. In addition, this video has been viewed 10,279,337 times. How amazing is that?

The video scenery itself is gorgeous, too, as the group is standing by a desolate lake and some woods. They are bundled in coats, scarves and gloves as they sweetly sing about Noel. Their vocals couldn’t be more crisper than the winter air, and the sound is quite hauntingly beautiful.

PTX ia currently based out of Los Angeles and sings on the record label, RCA Records.
