Obama and Trudeau Revive the Bromance Back

Fans of the Barack Obama-Justin Trudeau bromance can rejoice because the former U.S. President and the Canadian Prime Minister reunited on Tuesday in Montreal.

Proving that their bromance has no expiration date, former President Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau dined at the notable Montreal restaurant Liverpool House. Trudeau tweeted a photo of the candlelight dinner (yes there was a candle) with the caption, “How do we get young leaders to take action in their communities? Thanks @BarackObama for your visit & insights in my hometown.”

Upon exiting the eatery, the famous duo was greeted like pop stars with loud cheers from awaiting fans. Obama and Trudeau even shared a warm embrace before departing for the night.

Obama was in Montreal to deliver a speech to the Montreal Board of Trade in which he criticized America’s lack of leadership on climate change and took a jab at his successor President Donald Trump.

Obviously I’m disappointed with the current American administration decision to put out of Paris,” Obama said during the speech.

Although Obama and Trudeau still enjoy a friendly relationship, only time will tell whether Trudeau and Trump will have chemistry. The leaders had a cordial first meeting in February, but Trudeau diverged from Trump on both climate change and the President’s proposed travel ban. Aside from policy, Trudeau also appeared to resist Trump’s bizarre handshake style.

After first formally meeting at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in 2015, Obama and Trudeau have enjoyed several bromantic moments, including a lavish state dinner at the White House, which was the first for a Canadian prime minister since 1997.
