A simple act of kindness can really make a person’s day. Godfrey Cuotto is a 21 year-old student who lives in Hamilton, Ontario. When he got on the bus, he met a man who wanted to shake his hand. The man’s name was Robert, who has special needs. Robert was upset because the bus had become too crowded.
Godfrey says that he was surprised when Robert embraced him. He stated that he believed that Robert was pranking him at first. However, he quickly realized that Robert was in need of support and sympathy.
Godfrey and Robert held hands throughout the entire ride. Godfrey stated that you often have to put other people’s needs above your own. He did not realize that a stranger had captured the entire moment on video. The person who recorded the video put it on Facebook. The video has become very popular, and people are continuing to thank Godfrey for the kindness that he displayed to Robert.
Godfrey appreciates all of the positive attention he has received for his kind gesture. However, he does not take any credit for it. He gives his mother the credit. Godfrey stated that his mother is a queen and taught him to show compassion and kindness to others.
