Mix Fruit and Cake Mix in a Crock Pot for Delicious White Chocolate Cherry Dump Cake

Most people associate slow cookers with soups, chilies, and stews. It turns out that your slow cooker can also be handy when it comes to dessert. You get the joys of a decadent dessert without all of the measuring, mixing, and dirty dishes. Home cook Sarah Olson came up with this delicious recipe for slow cooker white chocolate cherry dump cake that will have you going back for seconds.

Ingredients:

1 box of yellow cake mix
1 21-ounce can of cherry pie filling
1 stick of melted butter
1 cup of white chocolate chips
Non-stick cooking spray

You start by spraying a 3.5-quart slow cooker with a little cooking spray. You spread the can of pie filling on the bottom of the slow cooker and then sprinkle the box of cake mix on top.

Pour the melted butter over the cake mix and then top with the white chocolate chips. Cover and cook on high for 2 ½ to 3 hours or until the cake is set in the middle. Of course, no cake is complete without some vanilla ice cream on the side.

For a little variation, you can switch the yellow cake mix for chocolate and the white chocolate chips for milk, semi-sweet, or dark chocolate chips.
