With so much negativity going on in the current world stage, it’s nice to see that not everything in the world is a swirling mass of hate and ignorance. There are bright spots out there, and the internet is a great tool for sharing those beacons of comfort through the rest of humanity. One such example of how the internet has been used to share the better part of humanity is the story of Thor, the incredibly beautiful cat with a unique story.
Thor is a Bengal cat, and if that word sounds familiar, it’s probably because most people have heard it in the name ‘Bengal tiger’. That is essentially where these cats got their unique name. Thor has a vivid coat of fur that looks very much like a larger cat. While he doesn’t have the traditional solid stripes of a tiger, he does have a very individualistic coat that is often admired by those who have never seen such beauty from such a small animal.
Like most Bengal cats, Thor has a personality that is nearly closer to that of a dog than of a traditional house cat. Thor loves to go on walks with his owner, Rani Cucicov, and the cat even has his own leash that he seems to really enjoy using. His brilliant fire red and black striped coat is also marked with what appears to be the spots of a cheetah or leopard, so he instantly attracts the attention of passersby when the pair go on their outings.
It is important to note that not all Bengal cats have the same beautiful coat as Thor. This cat certainly got lucky in the looks department, and just like most pets, he is incredibly spoiled. His owner says that Thor’s favorite food is shrimp, which is quite an expensive meal for a pet, but Cucicov simply can’t resist giving his little buddy everything he wants.
Cucicov says that Thor is the best cat he has ever known, and that Thor is quite a vocal little guy. He loves to meow and purr with his owner, and the pair are often cuddled up together during the end of the day. Thor loves to sit with Cucicov when he is using his warm laptop, as most cats are drawn to sitting wherever their humans are working, and Thor is no exception. Also like other cats, Thor absolutely loves his nap time. He spends the majority of his day slumbering away, dreaming of his amazing life.
The argument between people who loves dogs and people who love cats has been going on for years, but Thor is somewhere in the middle ground, which is what makes him so amazing. He has the independence and self-reliance of a cat, yet he also has the social skills and intelligence of a dog. His incredible beauty and gorgeous coat don’t hurt either. On top of all that, Thor has stunning golden eyes that are sure to convert a few dog lovers into cat people.
It’s stories like that of Thor that help people realize the world isn’t a horrible place. The media might have a habit of focusing on the worst aspects of the world, but people should remember that the real world is made of real people, and most people have no desire for overt violence and conflict. Instead, the world should focus more on what makes us alike, and the general love for cats, and pets of all sorts, should be more than enough common ground to get the conversations going. Perhaps that’s why something as simple as a beautiful Bengal cat can spread like wildfire through social media.
