The McGhee sextuplets were born on June 9, 2010. They were the subject of a very popular and famous portrait that depicted all six infants sleeping on their father, Rozonno, Sr. Four of the sextuplets are boys (Rozonno, Josiah, Isaac, ad Elijah) and two are girls (Olivia and Madison). Their mother is named Mia.
That portrait caught the eye of Oprah Winfrey, among many other people. Winfrey’s interest led to the family starring in a reality show called “6 Little McGhees” that aired on OWN in 2012. On June 8, the family returned to TV in “Growing Up McGhee” that will be airing on UP. The show depicts how Rozonno, Sr. and Mia juggle caring for six children with running their carpet and upholstery cleaning business.
The McGhees took time out of their busy schedule to produce an updated version of the 2010 family portrait. They hired the same photographer and studio, which used the same brown background. None of the kids are sleeping this time around, however. They are wearing matching brown shirts and blue jeans rather than the birthday suits of the earlier picture.
The family’s poses in the 2016 picture are reminiscent of those in the 2010 picture. Rozonno, Sr. is lying down, and Mia is sitting behind him. Two of the children are on their father’s back, and another pair is by his side. One of the girls is leaning on his head, and the sixth child is lying near her.
The McGhees live in Columbus, Ohio. Mia and Rozonno, Sr. had met in high school. They had tried unsuccessfully several times over the years to have children. At one point, Mia miscarried a set of twins. The McGhees did not have the sextuplets until after they had been married for ten years. Their children are the first sextuplets to be born in Columbus.
