Man with Cerebral Palsy Has Trouble Eating – Waiter Voluntarily Helps Without Hesitation

Lee Bondurant and his mother Linda were looking forward to a nice meal when they decided to dine at 42nd Street Oyster Bar. Thanks to a random act of kindness by a young waiter, the pair enjoyed their evening even more than they could have anticipated.

Bondurant, who is 51, is a fiercely independent individual who does not let much get in his way. He also has cerebral palsy. This makes certain tasks, such as eating, difficult. As the pair dined, Linda would alternate between eating her own meal and helping her son with his.

That was when a young man by the name of Five, who is working his way through college by working at the restaurant, noticed the pair. He quickly stepped over and asked Bondurant if he had ever eaten oysters. Bondurant replied that he had not, and Five offered to serve him his first. Linda says Five made his offer in a way that was not meant to cause any embarrassment.

Bondurant says he is not accustomed to receiving help from strangers, but he was moved by the genuineness of the young man’s offer and accepted. In an interview with a local news affiliate, Bondurant said that he appreciated what Five did and called the young man’s actions an “ultimate act of kindness.”
