Daniela Poggiali, is a 42-year-old resident of Lugo, Italy has become nicknamed the Angel of Death. She was taken into custody over the weekend and has been charged with murder after 78 year old Rosa Calderoni, one of her patients,who died unexpectedly.
It was discovered the elderly patient had been given an exceedingly high dose of potassium which resulted in cardiac arrest. Poggiali’s co-workers became increasingly suspicious after her patients would worsen or die after her shift. They stated thatshe was cold and polished, and sedated patients whom she found annoying or demanding. Co-workers also believed Poggiali gave her patients laxatives to make life difficult for other shift workers.
After her arrest, Police searched Poggioli’s phone and found selfies taken by each deceased patient. So she obviosly wasn’t too good at covering up her tracks… The Angel of Death gave a thumbs up with each deceased person laying by her side.
Prosecutors were shocked by the photos and stated they had never seen anything like it before – Poggiali’s motives remain unknown and her defense will have a hard time keeping her out of jail. The investigation revealed thirty eight other patients who passed away on her shift, and who knows how many other deaths this deadly woman might have been responsible for.
