A dying Wiggins, Mississippi man’s granddaughter left a heartwarming goodbye note for him to read. She penned the letter shortly before he died. The emotional note listed five important things that Leroy Watkin’s granddaughter wanted him to know. In order, they were, “I love you!”, “Get better soon.”, “I will miss you”, “God is ready!”, and “He wants to see you!”.
The seven year old girl, Cadence, was able to give her grandfather a proper goodbye, writing a note that many adults might not have been able to write under similar circumstances. Leroy Watkins died due to complications from a stroke that he had suffered four months prior to his death.
He had sustained a major emotional blow four years earlier, when his wife of five decades passed away, and his family stated that he was never able to completely recover.
Many people are never able to say goodbye to their dying loved ones in the way that they wished.
