Sometimes, surprisingly, we get our inspirations from the most unlikely of sources. We are told throughout our lives about the importance of perseverance. There are many inspirational people throughout history who achieved great things because they would not give up.
However, it is not only people who are able to accomplish impressive tasks. This video shows a beagle who will just not give up on getting her large toy through a doggie door. The video is 35 seconds long, and it shows the dog, named Maui, trying over and over again to push her toy through the doggie door. Her owner, Barbara Coleman, was recording her as she struggled, not expecting that the beagle would actually end up succeeding at the task.
After pressing the too-large toy against the door a few times and dropping it as well, the dog runs inside. It seems like she has given up, but then she sticks her head out from inside and pulls the toy in through the doggie door. Coleman’s audible surprise is heard on the video. She states, “Maui proved me wrong after I told her the toy wouldn’t fit through the door-DETERMINATION!”
This is evidence that even an animal can accomplish something seemingly impossible with determination and perseverance. Maui was told that she would not be able to get the toy through the door, but she found a way to do it anyway. We could all take a lesson from this dog and try our hands at the seemingly impossible!
