Famous Model Gets The Greatest Of Revenge On Thief Who Stole Her Art

The Suicide Girls decided to fight piracy with piracy when they learned that six of their images were blown up and sold for $90,000 each by artist Richard Prince. Word of his Instagram gallery spread like wildfire, which isn’t surprising when the sale price for his work was so high. When the Suicide Girls heard of his theft, they responded in the most ingenious way.

Missy Suicide, founder of the Suicide Girls, got back at Prince by selling their own prints of the identical images at one-thousandth of his purchase. The images are printed in the same way: ink jet on canvas. They’re even the same size. As an added comment on the official Suicide Girls’ pieces, there is a comment that reads “true art.”

Sources indicate that Missy Suicide sent Richard Prince a tube of ointment, because she just burned him hardcore. Still, Missy Suicide states that “…she is not holding a grudge” and that the Suicide Girls will not be taking legal action.

The profits they are making on their prints is being directly donated to The Electronic Frontier Foundation. This foundation is a nonprofit organization that aims to defend our civil liberties in the digital world.
