Diane and Tony Rowles, once residents of the UK before moving to Bulgaria, have seen the pain of animals on the streets. They also learned that many of their neighbors abused the dogs and cats that they saw.
The couple decided to do something about it by creating the Rudozem Street Dog Rescue. This is a shelter that takes in animals that have been mistreated, providing the food and warmth that they need.
One day, the couple found a dog on the streets that didn’t seem like she could be saved. She was badly damaged, and she was in a lot of pain. They took her to the vet, waiting for her to try to get better. The dog was treated, and after she recovered for a few days, she was given a bath. She was a dog that was afraid of the interaction with people, but she soon warmed up to the help that was given.
She started eating, and soon, the owners of the shelter could see that she still had some life in her. One of her legs needed a cast, and she needed emotional therapy to go along with the physical healing. Her transformation was almost complete, and Diane and Tony finally saw that she was a beautiful dog on the outside as well as the inside. All it took was a little extra care.
