Every Day, This Dog Sits Alone In The Street, But What A Stranger Does Out Of Nowhere..

Meet Cleo. She is only two years old. In her short life, she has already experienced much suffering, but was fortunate enough to be rescued from a terrible fate.

Cleo is from Egypt, where, as a puppy, she was hit by a car, beaten, abused, and left to die. Cleo’s back legs are paralyzed as a result of being hit by the car, and was forced to drag her own body around the streets. People pushed her away, hit her, and threw stuff at her. No one took the time to care after a creature who was clearly suffering. Cleo was likely near death when someone rescued her and brought her to the U.S.

Cleo ended up in Indiana, and was adopted by a foster mom with a big heart. Given wheels for her back legs, Cleo was able to move around again, and experience the comfort of a loving home. Unfortunately, the foster mother had to have back surgery, and was unable to continue caring for the special needs dog.

An organization called Heartland Small Animal Rescue stepped in and found a family to love and care for Cleo while she regains her health. They hope to be able to rehabilitate at least one of her legs. Recently, a “puppy shower”, was thrown in her honor, and she received many gifts from the community.

Now, it seems, this puppy who was left to die, is getting a second chance at life, thanks to the kind hearts of humans.
