Ever Wonder What Happens When You Pour Molten Aluminum Into A Fish Tank? Here’s Your Answer:

There is a video online of an amateur scientist demonstrating what happens when you pour molten aluminum into a fish tank. The first thing he did was soak water beads for a few hours. The beads are highly-absorbent, and they can absorb up to 200 times their weight in water.

He let the beads soak for a few hours and added them to the fish tank. He then used a homemade forge to prepare the molten aluminum, and poured the aluminum into the fish tank. The aluminum and the water beads created a highly interesting chemical reaction.

Then this guy pulls something very interesting out of the fish tank. The water beads had clung together and created something that looked amazing. The video was uploaded to YouTube and viewed over 1.1 million times! Posted by the Backyard Scientist, who is known for his interesting science videos, this is something you should absolutely check out!

Even though this is a cool experiment, it is probably not a good idea to try this at home … molten aluminum could be dangerous in amateur hands. The Backyard Scientist has many other science videos on his YouTube page, including one of him pouring aluminum into a watermelon. Tell us what you think!
