Rory Feek is doing everything possible to keep his wife Joey comfortable during the final days of her life. The country music duo has gone through a long battle together over the past two years after Joey discovered she had cervical cancer in 2014. After treatments and surgery, she thought that she had beat the disease.
In the summer of 2015, however, she learned that the tumors had returned and were once again growing. The doctors told her that there as nothing they could do to stop the spread of the disease this time. At that point Joey and her fam,ily decided to go home and live out the rest of their time together in peace and quiet and comfort. They know there isn’t much time left, but Rory and Joey are still praying for a miracle.
Rory has shared heartbreaking pictures of his wife but that display the love the family has for her. Rory updates fans via a blog that he has created and in which he discusses the important moments, like what it’s like sitting on the porch together and the feelings that the couple had after leaving the hospital.
One photo shows Joey surrounded and hugged by her little girl, Indiana, and her step-daughters. Joey understands she will be with God soon, and she is at peace with that. She feels that her legacy here is over, and she needs to sing in Heaven.
