Donald Trump Jr. Makes One Tweet and Proves He’s As Big A Jerk As His Dad

In a recent editorial, Donald Trump Jr. was accused of being as big of a jerk as his father is. Those are strong words, surely written to intentionally discredit the eldest son of the Republican candidate for the Presidency.

But is the insult justified?

After all, the four adult Trump children put on a pretty good show of being intelligent, well-educated, strong family advocates and very photogenic. Always impeccably dressed, they speak well in public with calm, reasoning voices.

On Tuesday night, the second night of the Republican convention in Cleveland, Donald Trump Jr. addressed the gathering. His speech promoting his father’s many successes and positive virtues pumped energy into the otherwise lackluster evening. He wrapped up his glowing remarks to a standing ovation from the aroused conventioneers.

And then “The Donald Jr.” sent the following Tweet, using the internet in the same reckless way “The Donald” does.

At dinner with our greens keeper who missed his sister’s wedding 2 work (luv loyalty 2 us). “No big deal. Hopefully she will have another someday.” : )

Reading between the lines, what was the purpose of the Tweet? Was it to show the Trumps are ordinary folks who often break bread with working people like golf course greens keepers?

Notice Donald Jr. didn’t say if he was actually sitting at the same table with his unnamed lackey.

And look at the line “luv loyalty 2 us.” Was he there to cut Jr.’s steak for him or to refill his wine glass rather than attend his own sister’s wedding?

How much love and respect does the Trump family convey to their workers? A caring boss would have insisted the employee be there when his sister was married.

And how about the closing remark that “hopefully she’ll have another (wedding) someday.” Doesn’t that imply his sister’s forthcoming marriage is doomed to fail so it’s no big deal if the greens keeper misses it?

The rancid aroma of entitlement and wealth that Donald Trump Jr. enjoys comes through in that short Tweet. He may not yet be the megalomaniac his father is, but it appears he is heading that way.

In his speech, he tried to paint Donald Trump as the working man’s man when he said his father doesn’t hide behind the desk in a luxurious office. He‘s out there with the with the regular Americans, working side by side with them.

Donald Trump Jr. grew up a wealthy, sheltered kid. After attending the prestigious boarding school The Hill School, he earned a B.S. degree from the University of Pennsylvania. From there, he immediately went to work for his father in the Trump real estate empire.

There’s nothing wrong with nepotism, of course, but in the Trump world of private jets, country clubs, and million-dollar mansions, it certainly doesn’t figure you’d be our working with the carpenters and steel riggers. Or having dinner with the guy who’s in charge of keeping your father’s golf courses nice and green.

It’s obvious the Trump campaign is targeting working-class, angry Americans if they have any hope of winning the election in the fall.

Trying to portray yourself as a sympathetic friend to that group by sending out unsolicited, phony tweets like Donald Trump Jr. did is a reflection of his true personality…he’s a jerk!

Maybe Donald Jr. has never heard the things his father has said about his own children. In 2005, Donald Trump appeared on the Howard Stern radio show in New York City. Trump boastfully told Stern that he had nothing to do with raising his children and wouldn’t do anything to take care of them.

Why should he, Trump added, he paid people to do that for him.
