Losing a child to a devastating illness is one of the most heartbreaking things that a parent could experience. However, if one can preserve the memories of their child, then it can help them feel like their child is still there and cope with the tragedy better. Anna Bozman-Thompson was preparing for her wedding day, but she was utterly depressed because her son, Lake, would not be there to witness this joyous occasion.
Lake died in May 2015 after a long battle with leukemia. Anna stated that it was almost unbearable to take pictures without her son, Lake, there. That is why Brandy Angel, who is a photographer, wanted to make sure that Anna felt Lake’s presence during the wedding photo shoot. Brandy said she saw an amazing light in the photo shoot and stated that the light moved around, never changing color or shape.
She also stated that the light reflected off of the bride’s dress. Lake’s two siblings were also included in the photo shoot. Brandy wanted to comfort the family in whatever way that she could.
Poor Anna feels like her family will never be complete while she is on earth. However, she is comforted by her religious beliefs, and the idea that she will one day reunited with Lake. She also feels like Lake is watching over her and the family. The boy made a huge impact on the community, and will be remembered fondly by everyone who met him. And his grieving mother will someday feel comforted that his memory cannot die.
