While borders between countries serve an important function, they can also be beautiful and meaningful. There are many manmade and naturally-occurring borders between countries that are worth taking a look at.
Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay all come together in a T, so the border between the three countries is a T-shaped body of water. At the border between Mongolia and China, there are two enormous statues of dinosaurs reaching to each other from either side of the road. Some photographers have captured beautiful photos of the border between Russia and Alaska, which is usually snowy and icy. There are also some incredible photos of the border between China and Nepal, which is mostly made up of tall mountains.
In some places, the borders aren’t quite so dramatic. The border between Belgium and the Netherlands is simply a line of bricks on a sidewalk. On one side is a brick that says “NL,” and on the other side is a brick that says “B.” One section of the Sweden and Finland border is on a golf course, so you can cross over to another country in the middle of your golf match.
A talented Polish artist, Jaroslaw Koziara, designed a piece of artwork to cover part of the border between Poland and Ukraine. If you look at the border from above, you can see an intricate fish design. People who have a thirst for adventure can ride a snowmobile right down the border between Norway and Sweden and be surrounded on either side by tall, snowy pine trees.
The border between Germany and the Czech Republic might be the most beautiful one of them all. One area of the border is marked by incredibly tall rocks that almost reach up to the clouds, and it looks like a picture out of a fairytale or a fantasy story. These are just some of the amazing borders between countries, but they’re all worth visiting to see for yourself.
