Anti-abortion Group To Turn Over Video Evidence Of Planned Parenthood Fetal Tissue Deal…

The latest controversy surrounding secretly recorded videos of Planned Parenthood employees discussing the sale of aborted fetal tissue took a new turn when a California Federal District Court ordering the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), which shot the videos, to turn over the evidence related to the situation.

The September 18th decision followed two weeks of legal battles over the videos, which were taken by members of CMP posing as employees of a medical research company that was seeking to buy the tissue. The founder of CMP, David Daleiden, had fought against turning over the videos, saying that he would plead the Fifth Amendment in order to avoid incriminating the organization. A total of 10 videos have been released by the organization, each eliciting outrage from conservative groups and sparking a move to defund Planned Parenthood.

Originally legal action was taken by the National Abortiuon Federation (NAF), who claimed to be angry over what they call “heavily-edited” videos. This movement has put Planned Parenthood employees and clients in danger. After hearing the ruling, the head of the NAF Vicki Saporta, stated that the CMP they had always had nothing to hide concerning the legality of their actions. That, Saporta noted, was in severe contrast to David Daleiden who invoked the Fifth Amendment.

The vote over possibly defunding Planned Parenthood has raised the possibility that Republicans will refuse to pass a temporary funding bill, which would cause a government shutdown. AGAIN. I for one, am tired of the old white GOP childishly clogging the pipes of our government, to the point of shutdown, because they don’t like abortions. There are much, MUCH larger fish to fry in this day and age, gentlemen.
