Angry Family Demands Answers After Cop Snaps Selfie With Their Dead Son

It’s hard enough for a parent to lose a child, but when a parent sees a picture of a police officer giving a thumbs-up sign to the camera while standing beside the dead child, it can make the parent feel horrible.

One mother in St. Louis wants answers after this kind of picture surfaced online. A North County Police Cooperative member responded to the home of Omar Rahman. The officer is wearing gloves while standing beside the young black man who is dead.

The officer is also smiling in the picture and holding up his thumb as if showing that he’s proud that the young man is dead. The young man’s mother feels that officers are supposed to protect others. Officers haven’t given a lot of explanation about why the picture was taken.

A medical examiner conducted an autopsy and believes that the man died because of a drug overdose. The death appears to be an accident, but that doesn’t mean that the officer had to take a picture with the man’s body. An attorney has been hired by the family to investigate the actions of the officer. The attorney has never seen this kind of picture taken with an officer and is demanding answers.
