A Madman Stabbed Her 32 Times. The Man Who Saved Her Life Did This 3 Years Later.

Melissa Dohme was 20 years old in 2012 when her ex-boyfriend brutally attacked her. He stabbed her 32 times, many of these stabbings in the face and neck, and left her behind thinking that she was going to die. However, she miraculously made it through this attack.

Cameron Hill was a paramedic and firefighter who was one of the first responders who helped Melissa. However, she was in such bad shape at the time that they did not formally meet. They did formally meet at a church event at a later date. They made an instant connection, and by 2013, these two people were in love.

Melissa has had a long road to recovery, including multiple surgeries to reconstruct her face. she has made a huge transformation since the attack, with the help of family, friends, her pit bull, and Cameron.

Robert Lee Burton Jr., Melissa’s ex boyfriend, who was 22 at the time of the crime, was sentenced to life in prison. Melissa, however, has forgiven him. Without the attack, she would not have met the love of her life.

Last week, Melissa had the honor of throwing the ceremonial first pitch at a game with the Tampa Bay Rays. She had no idea what Cameron had in store for her, however. He jogged onto the field and gave her a baseball that had the following message written on it: “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” She said yes, calling him her “fairy tale.” This story clearly had a happy ending.
