This past Sunday, Australia celebrated Father’s Day. Bindi Irwin, the daughter of renowned Crocodile Hunter Stee Irwin, paid tribute to her deceased father Steve Irwin. Bindi posted a photo of her father engaged with a crocodile on her Instagram account. This is how many people knew him best.
She went on to post that in honor of Australian Father’s Day she was thinking not only of her dad but of her “home” at the Australia Zoo. She shared the love of the zoo with her father and wrote that she will continue to do so.
When Bindi was only eight years old, she lost her father when he was making a wildlife documentary. He was impaled through the heart by a sting ray, an accident that resulted in his death. However, that incident has done nothing to affect Bindi’s love for animals. Her father would surely be a proud man to see her today.
Bindi continues to make appearances at various big events, including a recent celebration for the Discovery Channel. We may have first heard about Bindi Irwin from her father, Steve. But now Bindi is making a name for herself.
She will be starring in “Dancing With the Stars” as it airs it’s twenty-first season. She will be dancing with partner Derek Hough beginning on September 14th on ABC.
